RECHARGE ON THE SABBATH. For most of you who know me well, you know I'm a busy bee. I used to think taking naps is a waste of time. My husband used to tell me to sit and rest because looking at me doing chore after chore made him dizzy. That was before I became intentional on how I plan my week and how I spend my Sabbath Day.
In 2020, I came across a message in a devotional that impacted me: there is no excuse not to rest. It gave me ideas on what I can do during my Sabbath. It took me a while to actually have a true Sabbath. Since I have been consistent in attending worship service, I had to work on resting my body and recharging my emotions. I began structuring my week so I do chores Monday through Saturday and rest on Sunday. The idea of doing something that will re-energize me such as a hobby was delightful.
When I refocus my spirit by attending a worship service, I am intentional to pause and reflect on God's goodness. When I recharge my emotions by doing crafts or reading books, I am intentional to pause and reflect on God's spiritual gifts. When I nap, I am resting my body. I am reminded of a friend's story about "Jesus Takes Naps" printed on a shirt.
I will be crafting tomorrow and you are invited to join me. I am also planning on hosting one craft session a month. A flyer is featured on my other post, The Power of Pause, category 'create and evolve'. More details to come. Hope you'll join the fun😊
