WITH A GRATEFUL HEART. As I enter into my 53rd year of life here on earth, I reflect on what I have learned over the past year and what I am looking forward to in the coming year. I have learned to extend extra grace, to discern priorities, to embrace my brokenness, to practice discipline, and to prune non-essential activities as well as unhealthy relationships. In addition, I have learned to speak the truth that enriches, to soothe emotions, to listen with empathy, and to seek the Holy Spirit in my interactions with others.
I am joyful because of my grateful heart. Every day, I thank the Lord for the gift of life, gift of family, gift of friendship, and gift of fellowship. I surrender my struggles, challenges, and worries during my daily quiet time in the morning. As I look towards the future with hope, I will strive to be better by practicing what I have learned as a follower of Christ. And if I fail, I will try to get back up and learn from my mistakes because I know that I can improve with God's power and not my willpower.
In this year of blessings and trials, I will strive to be steadfast because I believe in God's goodness, unfailing love, endless grace, and unconditional mercy. I will continue to dwell in his comforting presence during my Sabbath to refresh my soul and rejuvenate my body. I will question my ability and my willingness in serving God and others. And lastly, I will strive to fully surrender to his purpose and plan for my life. Then and only then I can truly immerse in contentment, with God at the center of my life.
I am grateful for you.
