I am going through menopause and my hormones are out of whack. I feel for those around me when I have bursts of irritability. A few weeks ago, I came across a devotional's message that made a profound impact on my behavior. The key verse of the daily devotional is from Colossians 3:13, "Make allowance for each other's faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others".
It made me realize that I need to extend grace to the people I love and to those around me. Also, it made me realize that the Holy Spirit is working in me. The devotional's message states:
"Showing grace goes against our nature to fight back, harbor a hurt, and have the last word. But we don't have to rely on our own strength. Trust that as a follower of Jesus, you have the Holy Spirit working in you to help you choose the things God loves: mercy, compassion, and grace". (Daily Hope with Rick Warren, 40 Days of Love Series, Love Lets It Go)
Who do you need to extend grace to?
