refocus and delight

A REASON IN A SEASON. Two weeks ago, a childhood friend of mine met up with me. We haven't seen each other for more than 35 years. The moment of reconnection felt good as we reminisced wonderful childhood memories. As she shared her life story with authenticity, I remembered why we got along so well. She was the same kind person I hang out with as a child. I am grateful to God for bringing her back in my life and for surrounding me with compassionate people.

God puts people in our lives during a season for a reason. I don't know the reason why God orchestrated the reunion. All I know is that he has a reason for her being in my life again. Although I don't know the reason behind it, I am certain that I need to strive to be a blessing to her.

In this complex world that we live in, genuine healthy friendships are hard to come by. Acquaintances come and go, but our core friends remain. Cherish friends who bring you closer to God.
