SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT: ONE GARMENT AT A TIME. I was shocked to learn that an estimated 92 million tons of textile waste end up in landfills every year. In my pursuit to help the environment, I haven't shopped for clothes in a long time. I tend to upcycle my old clothes by refashioning and adding design touches.
A few years ago, I stained my favorite Uniqlo track pants while using bleach to disinfect the sink. It was a tiny spot but it bothered me. I covered it up with long shirts. One day, I got tired of covering it up so I decided to stain the entire pants instead of getting rid of it. I used gloves to transfer bleach on a small disposable spray bottle (recycled) and sprayed all over the pants. I made sure that I did the staining process outside the house so I didn't inhale the fumes from the chemicals in the bleach. Then, I washed the garment by hand and let it air dry.
On a cool Saturday morning, I got to wear it with a matching cropped sport top while gardening. My floral garden clogs clashed with the sassy ensemble but I didn't care. I didn't feel 53!
How do you refashion your clothes?

Turned out as a cool outfit and that color dye style is on trend😊
