enlighten and delight

A REPURPOSE PROJECT: RICE BAG TO FABRIC BIN. I think I mentioned on my earlier post that I always think of a second use for an item before I throw it away. For example, I use an old dryer sheet on a Swiffer mop to remove hair on the floor. I also use empty eggshells and banana peels to fertilize potting soil. Those are some of the ways I repurpose.

When I came across an empty Kirkland Basmati Rice Bag with zipper, I knew I couldn't just throw it away before giving it another purpose. I didn't have an idea at that moment so I removed the zipper, saved it for later use, and ripped out the seams. The rice bag was folded and put away on a shelf. I had 2 bags on the shelf before an idea came to mind: I can use it as a liner in a fabric bin. The material is sturdier than the stabilizers I have on hand. For the exterior fabric, I used an old curtain. I use these bins to store my scraps of fabric.
