UPCYCLE PROJECT: PERSONALIZED POUCH FOR PRAYER SHAWL/BLANKET

A friend gave me fabrics and apparel that included her engagement dress ensemble. When I was deciding on a handmade and personalized gift for her birthday, I thought of repurposing her engagement hair tie/wrap and make it into a pouch for the prayer shawl with one of her favorite scriptures.

I started with ripping the seams and cutting out the lace design into eight strips. Then, I serged all the edges of the strips and sewed all the strips to the lined pouch. Here it is...
