DAILY QUIET TIME AND GRATITUDE JOURNAL
One of the habits that I have kept is having a daily quiet time in the morning. I learned early on when I was developing this habit that doing it in the evening was not very effective for me. I would fall asleep while reading the Bible. However, I felt that I needed to do an additional quiet time with God in the evening. I reflect on the events of the day as well as challenges along the way. I give thanks for the blessings I received and for the challenges that developed my character. I read devotionals from the YouVersion Bible App. I also invite my friends to join me in completing the Bible plans so I can think beyond what I have read and to share my perspective on what I have learned.
When I turned 50, I started to write daily in my Gratitude Journal. I ponder how I spent the gift of 24 hours every day and how I managed to prioritize my time. Did I spend time with the people I love? Did I check on my family and friends? Did I honor prayer requests? Did I utilize my time for God's purpose? Did I make a difference in other people's lives? Did I take care of my body by eating nourishing foods, exercising, and sleeping well? Did I put my trust in the Lord instead of worrying? Did I express gratitude for my blessings and hardships?
I am grateful to you for joining me in this community of God-centered "strivers". Let us continue to live with purpose and make a difference in each other's lives so we can make this world a thriving place for generations to come.
