refocus and delight

In this section of my blog, I feature insights from the Bible, devotionals, inspirational books, and other resources. The insights from John Ortberg's book. The Me I Want To Be, led me to refocus on intentional living and to delight in new wisdom.

Redemption always involves the redemption of creation

God's plan is not just for us to be saved by grace-it is for us to live by grace.

Spiritual growth is hand-crafted, not mass produced. God does not do "one-size-fits-all."

The main measure of your devotion to God is not your devotional life. It is simply your life.

A spiritual discipline is simply an activity you engage in to be made more fully alive by the Spirit of Life.

There is no way for a human being to come to God that does not involve surrender.

Jesus does not come to rearrange the outside of our life the way we want. He comes to rearrange the inside of our life the way God wants.

We would rather cogitate on what we do not know than actually do the things we know we ought to do.

Peace doesn't come form finding a lake with no storms. It comes from having Jesus in the boat.

The goal of prayer is to live all my life and speak all of my words in the joyful awareness of the presence of God.

Real freedom is not the external freedom to gratify every appetite; it is the internal freedom not to be enslaved by our appetites.

The pattern of your sin is related to the pattern of your gifts.

Being alone with God, you can fully be yourself.

You can only be loved to the extent that you are known.
