LENTILS: ALMOST PERSIAN STYLE. When I cook lentils, I add spices according to what cuisine I want to eat. If I want Greek taste, I add oregano; Italian, Italian seasoning. Recently, I was inspired to cook it Persian style. I added turmeric, cumin, and cinnamon. It turned out so delicious that now I'm thinking of cooking it on a weekly basis.
My basic ingredients: Lentils, celery, onions, garlic, tomatoes, homemade veggie broth, salt, and pepper.
Season with spices of your choice. Optional: drizzle with balsamic vinegar or lemon, top with cheeses: Goat cheese or Feta cheese.
