A SURPRISE FOR A FRIEND: LEMON OLIVE OIL CAKE. When friends tell me about their favorite restaurants, I always ask what they order and their favorite dish. In one conversation with a friend, she mentioned how much she loves the lemon olive oil cake at Flower Child.
On a recent visit to drop off my quilt block (see last week's entry), I decided to surprise her with a lemon olive oil cake. I browsed recipes on Pinterest and did a Google search for the easiest one to prepare because I'm not good baker yet. I hope you notice the word "yet" because I believe there is potential. LOL. I lost count on the number of recipes I looked into that I got so overwhelmed. On the day of the visit, I presented my dilemma to my husband and he willingly agreed to bake the cake. I promised him that I will zest and juice all the lemons inside the bowl on our kitchen island.
Wow! I said this repeatedly after every bite. It was moist and tasted so lemony. It was better than Flower Child. I immediately asked my husband if he can make it again because I noticed him tweaking the recipe while he was baking and he didn't write down the changes he made. I hope he can capture the same taste and texture the next time he bakes. The taste takes me back to the Italian countryside.

Looks so yummy!
Looks beautiful and yummy needs to be in an Italian cookbook💜
