Every once in a while, I give in to indulgence. Today was one of those days. I usually call it a major indulgence because I go all out. Most often, it happens during afternoon snack time and involves chocolate. As I opened the refrigerator door, I saw a cup of cocoa drink and cut-up strawberries. The strawberries that I bought were sour and not sweet at all. I have added some in salads and smoothies. But today, I decided to add it in my cold cocoa drink and imagined eating chocolate- covered strawberries. I know it sounds weird, however, I can always rely on my imagination when faced with less than ideal ingredients. In this case, sour strawberries.
Then came the GREEN TEA SANDWICH TOAST. One day last week, my friend Tina came by and brought this sandwich bread. I immediately got my Hazelnut spread and gloriously spread it on. It was delish! I tried to save myself from overindulgence by freezing the loaf. The other day, I toasted one slice and the crunchiness elevated it to the next level. When I'm down to the last slice, maybe I can add ground flax to the hazelnut spread. Full flavor or added fiber? I'll let you know if I remember:)
