AWAKEN AND RENEW
Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins!
But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us like sheep, have strayed away.
We have left God's paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all.
Isaiah 53:4-6 NLT

TWEAK AND NOURISH
COMFORT FOODS: SOUP AND PASTA. Last week, my husband and I both came down with something almost simultaneously. While we're still battling some lingering cough and congestion, we're definitely on the mend! During those days when we needed a quick meal, we turned to our favorites: homemade ramen and miso soups, along with bucatini topped with our homemade pasta sauces. Now, you might think those soups would be time-consuming, but here's my little secret: I always have a stash of homemade dashi broth and ramen broth tucked away in the freezer! For the miso soup, all we had to do was mix in some miso paste and toss in toppings like spinach, tofu, dried seaweed, and green onions. As for the ramen, we simply heated up the broth and added our homemade marinated shiitake mushrooms, special sauce, pork meat, bell peppers, bok choy, dried seaweed, and a perfectly soft-boiled egg.
Now, I did try to steer clear of pasta during Lent, but who could resist when my husband whipped up bucatini with a zesty lemony zucchini and anchovy sauce just for me? He even reheated some bolognese sauce for his pasta dish. Although I was also trying to avoid meat this season, I couldn't help sneaking bites from his delicious pasta bowl! I suppose I truly needed my comfort foods.

PALM SUNDAY GLEANINGS: MESSAGE FROM PASTOR BUDDY I have planned on writing the last part of my Lenten series today but I thought of a better idea. I came across a message from Pastor Buddy and thought of sharing his compelling message on the significance of Palm Sunday.
