AWAKEN AND RENEW
So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy , the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.
In his kindness, God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strenghten you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. All power to him forever! Amen.

TWEAK AND NOURISH
NOURISHING COMFORT FOOD AFTER SURGERY: MISO SOUP
When I had surgery almost two weeks ago, I was happy to know that I can eat a regular diet right after the procedure. My sweet husband prepared this dish when I got home from the hospital. He used miso paste and dashi to make the soup base. He added Konjac noodles, boiled egg, spinach, green onions, mushrooms, and carrots.

REFOCUS AND DELIGHT
REFLECTIONS: INTEGRITY AND ABIDE AS FOUNDATIONS
To me, a remarkable person is a person of integrity. Good qualities and characteristics flow from integrity: honesty, respect, compassion, accountability, diligence, excellence, and the list goes on. Proverbs 20:7 states, The godly walk with integrity; blessed are their children who follow them.
In John 15:5, Jesus said, "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing." The fruit, as mentioned in this text, reminds me of Galatians 5:22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. A person who abides in Jesus is empowered, steadfast, and fulfilled. To abide is to seek God's kingdom, to yoke with Jesus, and to obey God's commands. A person who abides experiences peace that passes all understanding, finds joy in difficult times, grows in wisdom, and gives thanks at all times.
