MOTTAINAI: TURNING BOXES INTO GIFT BOXES! Mottainai is a powerful Japanese concept that inspires us to treasure and make the most of everything. My journey towards a zero-waste lifestyle kicked off when I relocated to vibrant Hawaii. The high cost of living there prompted me to be more mindful in my shopping and cooking habits. I made a conscious decision to eliminate waste, not only in terms of food but also in all aspects of my life. Over five years ago, I enthusiastically embraced the art of repurposing and upcycling!

So, when I needed some gift boxes for my handmade lemon verbena sachets, I was like, "Wait a minute, I've got some boxes stashed away for later use." I mean, it can sound a bit cringy when people talk about saving stuff 'for future use', right? You might even wonder if they're turning into hoarders. But hey, in my case, I only keep the good, sturdy boxes. And no, I haven't gone overboard with collecting them. And yes, they're all neatly stacked up. 😄 I guess you could call me a 'tidy hoarder' if that's even a thing!

BAKED WITH LOVE: PANETTONE! I am thrilled to share that every single bite of this heavenly Italian bread was crafted with pure love. It all began when my amazing husband delved into the world of starter dough a few months back. His dedication knew no bounds - he diligently kneaded the dough every single night. I was absolutely captivated by his process of adding flour and water, meticulously checking for bubbles, transferring the dough to different containers, and even storing it inside the oven with the light on. The result? A masterpiece baked with passion and care!

Wow! This homemade Panettone is absolutely incredible! Once you try it, you'll never want to go back to store-bought Panettone again!
