MY HIGHLIGHTED VERSES IN 1 CORINTHIANS CHAPTERS 1-8

1 CORINTHIANS:

1:7-9 NLT

Now, you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will keep you strong right up to the end, and he will keep you free from all blame on the great day when our Lord Jesus Christ returns. God will surely do this for you, for he always does just what he says, and he is the one who invited you into this wonderful friendship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

1:30-31 NLT

God alone made it possible for you to be in Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made Christ to be wisdom itself. He is the one who made us acceptable to God. He made us pure and holy, and he gave himself to purchase our freedom. As the Scriptures say, "The person who wishes to boast should boasts only of what the Lord has done."

2:12-15 NLT

And God has actually given us his Spirit (not the world's spirit) so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us. When we tell you this, we do not use words of human wisdom . We speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit's words to explain spiritual truths. But people who aren't Christians, can't understand these truths from God's Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them because only those who have the Spirit can understand what the Spirit means. We who have the Spirit understand these things, but others can't understand us at all.

3: 18 NLT

Stop fooling yourselves. If you think you are wise by this world's standards, you will have to become a fool so you can become wise in God's standards.

6: 19-20 NLT

Or don't you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.

7: 30-31 NLT

Happiness or sadness or wealth should not keep anyone from doing God's work. Those in frequent contact with the things of the world should make good use of them without becoming attached to them, for this world and all it contains will pass away.

8:6 NLT

But we know that there is only one God, the Father, who created everything and we exist for him. And there is only one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom God made everything and through whom we have been given life.
