I eat oatmeal everyday. I usually cook a batch of traditional rolled oats and store in the fridge to last for 3-5 days. This has been going on for over 2 years now. I was content with the way I cooked the oatmeal until one day I was blown away by the texture.
I vividly remember that day. I was on my way to the gym when my husband asked what I wanted to eat for breakfast. I know deep down he already knew what I wanted but I guess he was hoping I would join him in eating a mushroom omelet drizzled with truffle oil or some elaborate dish for breakfast. So I told him to prepare a plain oatmeal and I will decide on what toppings to add.
When I got back from the gym, I eagerly went straight to the kitchen and looked at the pot of oatmeal. "Wow, it's so fluffy", I said with delight. It was a life-changing moment for me. I vowed from that day on that I will be enjoying a fluffy oatmeal for breakfast. That day I learned a simple technique for a fluffy oatmeal-boil the water first before adding the oats!
